DS Woodworking is a family owned & operated small business located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.  We are a military family and fell in love with the state of Washington while stationed at McChord Air Force Base. We have now called Washington home for nearly 22 years. 

Dean began his love for carpentry in the early 2000’s making furniture for our children out of our small garage while living on McChord AFB, and from there the story begins. 

In 2007, a fellow woodworker, Steve Burke, turned Dean onto Fretwork and his natural talent grew from there.  Dean passed the Fretwork skill down to our son Matthew, they would scroll-saw side by side in our little garage for hours. Matthew is now serving in the United States Air Force flying the B-52’s.  

Our daughter, Alyssa loves the business side of DS Woodworking. She is often found in front of a computer, organizing all of Dean’s work, managing the social media, and taking photographs of his amazing pieces.  

We now have a full-size workshop where Dean is able to create a multitude of woodworking projects. All products are hand-crafted from premium domestic wood. Cutting boards, charcuterie boards and Lazy-Susans, are functional pieces. Many customers often say, “they are too beautiful to use”, but we assure them that they are made to be used for many years.
